Port Arthur Refinery, Flareless Hydrocracker Turnaround
Port Arthur refinery customer had to complete a flareless turnaround involving their Hydrocracker Unit. Envent mobilized three EMECS-42 thermal oxidizers, two ESCRUB-6000 recirculating scrubbers, and all associated safety equipment to complete the decommissioning.
-
Northern California Refinery, Sour Naptha Degas
In mid April 2016 a Northern California Refinery discovered a seal leak on a 145 ft. diameter x 75 ft. tall above ground external floating roof storage tank that was in Sour Naptha service. Due to the sour nature of the product in the tank, this seal leak presented substantial safety and environmental hazards to any personnel working at the refinery as well as to the surrounding community.

Emergency Response, Butadiene Pipeline Degassing Project, Texas.
Emergency Response Call-out to depressurize a 13 mile long section of 12 inch pipeline containing butadiene. Required to line depressurize from 250 PSIG to 0 PSIG. Envent engineered and was on-site within 2 hours, in the middle of the night.

Thermal Oxidizer vs IC Engine
A customer indicated a serious incident that had taken place in the facility a few weeks earlier while a degassing company was performing vapor control on a gasoline storage tank.

Tank Roof Collapse
Leave tank cleaning to the experts. Leave tank degassing to Envent. Among several other vapor service lines, Envent degasses tanks. Being a tank degassing specialist, Envent does not dilute its attention to detail in an effort to capture more work scope and therefore more project revenue.
-
Pyrophoric Tank Degassing
Envent brings experience to the project site. With experience comes the knowledge to ask the right questions.
-
Emergency Pipeline Degas
During the re-commissioning of the pipeline a leak was detected. The leak was isolated between two stations roughly 16 miles of pipeline. In total 12,000 barrels of propane needed to be combusted as quickly as possible.
-
EICE – Naphtha Tank Degas
A tank farm customer requested Envent degas a 123 foot diameter naphtha tank. The tank farm was able to continue operations around the tank while degassing was in progress due to the small footprint of the EICE.

Southern California, Sour Tank Inert Degas Operations
A nationwide petroleum company had an API inspection deadline on a 110’ diameter External Floating Roof Tank containing sour crude product. There was an acute hazard in the tank for pyrophoric materials, materials which ignite in the presence of oxygen without an ignition source. The petroleum company understood that they would need an all-star team to degas, clean, and inspect this tank.

Texas City, Vapor Control, Emergency Response
A terminal company in Texas City utilized a flare to control vapors on their storage tanks. When the flare failed, Envent was called to control excess vapors. Envent responded to this emergency, and was able to arrive onsite within four hours.
-
Southern California Refinery, Compliance Engineering
A Southern California refinery was operating a thermal oxidizer in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) that registered a flow rate of 267 SCFM, exceeding the maximum permissible. Envent diagnosed the problem, procuring a new sensor and recalibrating the refinery’s equipment.
